Membership Report

Tim Whited reported that there are approximately 105 members.

Regarding membership drive – it was decided that the membership committee will take out an ad instead of doing a second mailing.

Members Expo

$750 received in sponsorships. 17 members have confirmed to attend so far. There will be two full page ads in the Star-Courier, Mainliner and Mountaineer-Herald costing $375 per week. The ads will be in place of the placemats and billboards. Invitations were sent out and faxes were done. There were no results from the second fax. April 4th is the deadline for sponsorships. The goal was to have 95% of the members. Vendor registration is April 30th. Sponsors will be included in the advertising.

Career Fair

The committee will be meeting next Wednesday to discuss.

Economic Committee

Pennsylvania Highlands Community College reception was overlooked. It was discussed to contribute to their next fundraiser as we were too late for this one.

Lori Goss Blake has come up with a package to maintain the website. She offered us a package of $250 donation to maintain our own domain website; $200 without our own domain. Christina Shoemaker made a motion to secure our own domain for our website; Sam Taranto seconded it. All were in favor. Fran Filkins will communicate with Lori on obtaining the website. As of now www.ncaba.com and www.ncaba.org are unavailable.

An invitation was received for a Local Government Opportunity Forum and Reception on April 2nd. It appears to be more geared to governments. It was recommended that we contact all the governments we have an email for and inform them of this opportunity.

Scholarship

Gerry Checkon will need to be contacted to see if she is still interested in belonging to the NCABA and if she will be willing to give us the information on the scholarship. It was noted that Gerry is no longer working with Laurel Crest Manor and she was the chairman of the scholarship committee and contributed to the NCABA at almost every activity. Other committee members include: Kim Mason, Lynn Watt, and Erin Gabany. The committee will need to meet and give a report on the status. Suzanne McCombie from Mainline Newspapers offered to do a story on the scholarship.
